And what about the CDS buyers of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ?

Reggie. What happens to the poor chaps that were making a real bundle on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit default swaps ? A monstruous lawsuit is coming. I think that these CDS buyers have a recourse and that Paulson (the taxpayers, these slaves) will have to also pay back all the CDS buyers. There are for 1,4 trillion of CDS on Fannie and Freddie - Marc Authier

these folks that own the F/F bonds begin to dump them because of the CDO risk increase, will that trigger automatic contributions from treasury up to the 800 billion cap? If yes is 800 billion a cap or a guideline?

jus wonderin. - Johnny Lay

but then again, if I had 500k...

I don't really understand much about investing yet, but I know wamu goes far to legitimize a settlement on an unsecured loan with them. They have to have power of attorney ans request for negotiation notarized... - Jarod

Reggie always talks about shorting stock. Never mentioned puts. (i might not noticed it)

Given the clear direction of the market and some shares, puts will have much higher return. Thus i decided to start with puts. Unfortunately, opening the account and transferring money is taking me ages. Last week, I made an assumption that I bought FRE, FNM, and LEH September puts, if i had actually done that, i would have made 13, 23, and 5 times my money!!!! F*&^

Just wanna check if this is his experience with puts in the current market or will i be burned when i enter

I'll look into the Credit card clearing sooner. I do whatever it takes to get the job done. I particularly like to use options. - Reggie Middleton

The warning is probably detecting too many consecutive attempts. Wait a minute and try again. I will institute a Visa/Mastercard system soon, but you can use your credit cards through paypal, if I'm not mistaken. - Reggie Middleton
