Everything you list there is superficial. All Apple does is iterate, they never innovate, but don't tell the fanboys that or they get mad. Look at their new A6 chip... Supposedly it's faster than all the new quad core chips, but it's only dual core! If Apple wanted to innovate, they would've made a quad core chip that blew all these other chips out of the water! But nope, they new a dual core was still good enough to convince the fans boys to line up overnight, and that's all they were going to do, even though they already had a dual core chip in last year's 4S.

From my perspective, I don't care about missed opportunities in Apple because I've made plenty of money in other places. I do think Apple fanboys are hilarious and annoying all at the same time, which is why Reggie's analysis is always welcomed during times like this. While it seems like the press is falling over themselves to praise this new iPhone, I can always count on Reggie to bash it and Apple both. It's comforting to know that no matter what the other shills says, Reggis is a guaranteed Apple bear from here to eternity, and I always enjoy reading his opinions. Stay strong Reggie, don't ever change your mind no matter how high Apple stock goes, being right is never worth selling out.

You're looking behind you when you should be looking in front. Apple's historical earnings growth will be near impossible to replicate. Their competition has increased immensely! Their per product margins have dropped nearly across the board in the mobile space, and the mobile space accounts for about 80% of earnings. The reason why corporate margins have increased is that the mobile space has higher margins than all of their other segments, but now that the mobile space has already pretty much taken over, you will see the margin compression in the mobile space resume. The iPhone 4S allowed Apple to sell an antiquated product at premium prices, which artificially boosted margins, but the price of that was to fall signficantly behind in product tech and capability. They look as if they will not be able to catch up either, and the attempt to even try to catch up will compress margins. Proof is the iPhone 5 16GB costs an estimated $207 to build, but retails at the same price as the iPhone 4 and 4S at their debuts. The problem is the iPhone 5 costs more to build than the iPhone 4 and still is not on feature parity with the average Android flagship. iPhones alone is about 70% of Apple's profits. So, you see my friend, you can't drive in the rear view mirror.

What's driving the stock higher is its earning growth. There's been no PE expansion over the last few years at all. How much cash a company makes is pretty much the definition of a company's "fundamentals" so I don't see how you can say that this rally isn't based on fundamentals when it's entirely based on Apple's earnings growth.

I think you're being rather unrealistic and I've pointed this out many times. I run a subscription investment research site. If you're interested in my opinion on stock prices, it's to be found behind the paywall - period. Notice how you don't see any subscribers complaining about the Apple research, do you? My public opinion about Apple is just that, and opinion about Apple - the company - not the stock. Thus far, nearly every single thing that I said about the company, its products, market share and competitive advantage has turned out to be true. Instead of acknowledging that, you harp on share price, even though you never bothered to find out what my analysis was on the share price or valuations. One point that Gary (above) does have is that the share price is going up as the competitive advantage is going down. Yes, you would have made money with Apple, but you also would have made money in tulips in Europe about 100 years or so ago and in real estate in Spain and the US about 5 years ago as well. That doesn't mean that you haven't been skirting the edge of sound investing. Apple's a great compamy, but there are things driving the stock higher that areon't necessarily fundamental in nature.

Is this what this site has come to? Someone is actually thanking Reggie for convincing him not to buy the greatest stock of this generation? Wow.... There are Apple fanboys, and there are anti-Apple crusaders. For those of us left in between, it's impossible not to give Apple tons of credit for all of their successes, both with consumers and on their balance sheet. The second of which, nobody, not even Samsung, comes anywhere close to matching. Reggie is clearly an Anti-apple crusader, and it's unfortunate because not only does it affect his analysis, but it's obviously starting to affect his readers too, and that's scary.

I'm glad you like my site, but there is no constant attack against Apple. It's better described as the truth. Time will tell whether the iPhone will be the best selling handset Apple has, but history has shown us that Samsung has outsold the iPhone for the past year, and Android has outsold iOS for the past year, hence your assertion is wrong. People to care about functionality, just as some other people care about aesthetics. I look on the train to see about 10% of the iPhones with a shattered screen while I don't ever recall seeing a GS2 or GS3 with a a shattered screen. The relevance? Apple put form over function by making a device prone to being dropped often out of glass front and back with a steel perimeter to add to the weight and accelerate the fall into impact in the inevitable drop. Samsung makes its device out of high impact plastic. This is just one out of a list of many reasons why Apple's newsest phone yet to launch is playing catch up (yes, the new iPhone 5 is now made out of high impact aluminum) to a 2 year old GS2 model, and doesn't even come close to the model launched 4 months ago! This is why Apple has seen it peak. As for price, that's not relevant to the conversation. I have not mentioned price in public discussion. Isn't this correct? Anyone who wants my investment advice is best served to subscribe and pay for it. Notice how those who subscribe to the Apple research on the blog sound very different from those who don't subscribe? There is reason for that and a reason why you don't see any paid subscriber complaints regarding Apple and its share price.

Reggie, whilst I agree with you most of the time and love your website I just dont get this constant attack on Apple. You have been harping on about it now for years and as the share price steadily increases you seem increasingly prone to defending your position. I feel you miss the point. Nobody doubts that the sIII has superior specs...but it 'looks' and feels like a pile of crap compared to the iphone ... and that matters to a lot of people, particularly women, who seem very loyal to the Apple brand. They dont care if you can transfer data with a phone held a couple of inches away ... they care that they have a sexy looking bit of kit that is usable and does not look like a plastic brick. Its a case of style over substance...style wins this war. The iphone 5 will be Apple's best selling phone ever. Just accept it.

Reggie,I think you are correct android owns 65% of the smart phone market as it grows Apples overpriced goods will shrink back tot he early adopter overpay crowd and be overtaken with less expensive feature rich phones. People still pay 1500 dollars for an Apple allinone when they can buy more computer in a Acer for 300 bucks you cant kill stupid and marketing pays dividends. Apple won first to market and they have been smart spending so much on advertising. They are losing their clear advantage as the market grows and the phone is a commodity. Apple will be crushed by metoo brands that coat tail on their marketing of smart phones, google wins with a better me too product, and they don't have to work that hard to sell or market the phones. in the side by side at your service provider the list of available aps and options kills the marketing dollar spend. I was selling a two wheeled garden cart we were spending huge on print ads. we had a superior product to anything on the market but we got killed by small backpage classified ads for me too products. We spent the money they undercut our price. Our mistake was to not sell direct through TV ads the TV ads tested off the charts and we had the money to buy TV where the classified garage guys couldn' t. At this point in the phone cycle I don't see that Apple wins via selling their glitzy ad wars and expensive marketing campaign smart phones are becoming a commodity item no real barrier to entry by the samsungs, googles etc. Reggie I think you are right Apple will slowly lose market share and be left with the service side of the business itunes store, aps etc which Google should begin cannibalizing aggressively now to kill them.
