Ok, enough is enough. You guys are littering my site with this opinion. I say I wasn't wrong, you say I was (although you have yet to show it). Send me an email with anything else on this topic so I don't have to resort to pruning the comment section. As for iPad margin contraction, it has already started happening and already evident, so this is not even a point to argue or debate - thus it is fruitless to do so. I wasn't using the iPad mini as proof of contracting margins, and if you read the whole comment or the posts behind them you will see plenty of logic and the evidence to back it up. If you have something else to say, I'll engage you but enough of this in my pubic discussion forums. If or when I'm wrong about Apple, I'll admit it. For now, it is trading right about where I said it will be.

Can you humor all of us and just tell us what your five worst predictions you've made were? You've made dozens upon dozens of predictions on non-obvious topics so surely you've gotten a handful of them wrong, and one or two completely wrong. Every analyst does. So, if you haven't been wrong about Apple, what have you been wrong about? Can we just get a little top 5 list?

Reggie, give it up already! The fact that you've resorted to using the iPad mini as prof that Apple's margins contracted as you predicted is the ultimate example of grasping at straws. Not only has no one seen the product, but no one knows the specs, and no one knows the price. What in the world are you talking about? The lengths you'll go to not admit you're wrong are INSANE! And I mean than literally, like the other poster said, your behavior is clinical and you really should seek help. Admitting you're wrong is an important life skill for all people, and it seems it's one you have no experience with. PLEASE, PLEASE, reevaulate your perspective and come to your senses. You have too many good insights to let them be overshadowed by this Apple fiasco.

You insult and say one needs professional help. You should mind your manners and check your facts - to wit: Reference the market share of the iPad 1 vs the iPad 2 vs the iPad 3, then do a channel check for the iPad 3. Again, simply check your numbers, particularly before the iPad numbers really kicked in. No, this hasn't happened yet, but it is nearly guaranteed to happen. Even if it didn't, the trend towards the cheapest possible iPad model (wifi -16gb) is by far the largest volume seller, wherein the higher margins are in the higher memory and more advanced models. How about you trade your insults for a few facts.

The iPad 3's growth rate is dropping? Apple released a smaller iPad? iPhone's profit share in the company reached 70%? None of these things have happened yet, and yet you point to them as facts that support your case. Maybe they will happen one day, maybe they won't, the point is no one knows. And yet this is what you use to defend your argument when everything else points to Apple's margins being at all time highs? Seriously, the world you live in is not the world the rest of us live in. This goes way beyond being right or wrong on a stock pick and I seriously think you should get professional help before it's too late.

Yes, I do have an idea. If you read my comment you should be saying, "Yes Reggie, I see that you declared Apple executed well by selling deprecated product at premium prices". Of course, for some reason you totally overlooked that. The question is "Do you know how much more the iPad 3 costs to produce than the original iPad or iPad 2?" or "Is the sell through growth rate on the iPad 3 dropping even as costs are increasing?" or "Isn't the iPad Apple's revenue diversificaion strategy to reduce reliance of 70% of the company's profit on just one, single device???!!" or "Is Apple now producing smaller, cheaper, lower margin tablets to answer Google's and high volume retail experts (Ex. Amazon) challenge of less expensive tablets, which will drive margins even lower - after all, the iPad is already materially lower in margin than the iPhone."

Do you have any idea how much cheaper the iPhone 4S is to make now compared to the iPhone 4 in Oct 2010? It's significantly cheaper, buy a huge amount. On top of that, the average sales price has actually increased and they're selling like 3x more of them! And yet you still claim that Apple's mobile products have suffered margin compression since then? Their overall margin is up considerably over that time frame so there's no way their mobile margins aren't a huge part of that. No possible way. It's one thing to be stubborn, but it's another thing to be so set in your ways you're incapable of admitting you're wrong. It's straight up pathological and it's pretty scary to see first hand.
