For those who don't regularly follow my site, I performed a deep dive of GGP last year and have been short their stock since the mid $50's (see GGP and the type of investigative analysis you will not get from your brokerage house). A few days ago, the stock dropped about $7 in a few minutes, down to $14, where my preset orders closed my position out. There are a number of GGP executives that are members of this blog. As a matter of fact, many of the companies that I have a short position in have executives (or entire divisions) that have registered and/or subscribed to the blog research. I am pleasantly surprised that they can take the research objectively and even benefit from it. The guys from Bear Stearns, Lehman and (I won't disclose the other entities) were real troopers. My had goes off to you guys. If I were to advise GGP execs, I would have recommened that they used an algorithmic trading platform to dump the shares before the margin call hit, that way they wouldn't have forced the price down so aggressively.

GGP was my largest position for some time, eclipsed only by MBIA, Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs (I believe I was the only one on the Street and in the Blogoshpere with a strong sell conviction on Bear, Morgan and particularly Goldman (see Goldman Sachs Snapshot: Risk vs. Reward vs. Reputations on the Street) which was the largest postiion for the year and probably the most profitable). The last couple of days saw me give back some profit, but it still allowed me to move my internal IRR target from over 200% to over 300%, although I will have to work a bit harder to achieve the newer guidelines. I took a break Thursday, when I shouldn't have (I was tired as hell), and made a trading error Friday, both of which costs me a few dollars that were'nt necessary (and I'm still kicking myself for not waiting till Friday evening to take a break). All told, I came into the big rally over 60% in cash and comfortably confident to hit and maintain my new internal return parameters, and am currently over 70% cash - awaiting to cash in on the early Christmas present(s) that Commissioner Cox has taken it upon himself to bestow upon me and other astute and nimble investors. As I have stated in "When blatant government market manipulation won't help you... the Run on Morgan Stanley", Cox very well may have doomed the last two independent US investment banks, and will probably blame it on the short sellers instead of a totally incompetent decision that has been proven time and again throughout history to never work - and that is government interference in the free markets.

I will be revisiting the Doo Doo 32 in detail  with updates to all forensic analyses, if the market permits, considering the many events of the last few weeks. Much of the Doo Doo is at 52 week highs in terms of price and 52 week lows in terms of value (thanks again, Mr. Cox). Some of this content will be primarily subscriber-only since it will end up costing me an arm and a leg to produce. I will also finally get around to releasing the balance of the next leg of my investment thesis - which has been, and potentially may again be, postponed due to the volatile nature of current events.
